Line-by-Line Editing
Revise & Resubmit primarily offers line-by-line editing (sometimes called developmental editing). Each line of your manuscript will be carefully scrutinized and adjusted for grammatical correctness, wordiness, convoluted sentences, typos, clarity, flow, academic tone, and voice. I also provide editorial margin notes to give you a 'heads-up' about peer-review red flags and continuity issues.

This process necessitates a deeper engagement than traditional copy editing, which only fixes objective errors. My maximalist editing style will increase your manuscript's publishability and is one of the benefits of choosing an editor with a PhD and multidisciplinary publishing experience.

R&R's straightforward pricing model means that every paper gets the same quality treatment. You just need to choose whether you want a one-time edit or unlimited edits. You will always receive two copies of your revised manuscript, one with 'track changes' and one without.

Cost: $0.020 per word

Structural Revisions
This service helps with manuscripts that demand stressful, structural revisions. In addition to my standard editing, I will reorder paragraphs, create sections and subheadings, and delete extraneous information. I can also help address (non-content) reviewer feedback.
This option is particularly popular with PhD students seeking support for major dissertation revisions (e.g., merging chapters) after their defense/viva.
The Silver Service
This service includes TWO structural revisions of your manuscript.

Advanced Referencing
Book publishers almost always ask the lead author/editor to sort out referencing discrepancies (unlike journal articles, where the production team handles it). For lead authors of co-authored books and edited volumes, this means reconciling and cross-checking other people’s references. This is a time-consuming task: publisher style guides must be heeded, and what did your colleague even mean by “(Henry 2019(?)—the one on tourism)”….
Luckily, R&R offers an advanced referencing service just for you. I will comb through your entire book manuscript to ensure that:
1. All the in-text (in-line) citations appear in the bibliography
2. All the bibliography entries actually appear in the main text
3. All references are styled to the publisher’s instructions
Some authors may also seek out an ‘even more advanced’ referencing service, in which I do my best to locate missing bibliographic entries using the available in-text data and context clues from the chapter. In a recent advanced referencing project, I helped the lead author identify 88% of their colleagues' more than 130 missing references. When I can’t confidently locate the reference, I will provide a list of my best guesses.

Advanced referencing rates and turnaround times are determined on a project-by-project basis.
Proofreading
Basic proofreading (copy editing) services are available for editors of multi-author collections who need to standardize formatting, eliminate typos, and correct grammatical mistakes. Book authors at the proofs stage may also seek a proofreading quotation.
